A few years ago, Microsoft added a functional API called human presence. At present, flagship products such as Lenovo and Dell are using this function, but the popularity rate is average. As the name suggests, windows 10 can use this function to detect whether the user is in front of the computer, while maintaining ease of use and improving security.
According to foreign media reports, with the update of windows 10 Sun Valley, Microsoft will introduce native controls for this function. At present, this function can only be used by OEM applications such as Dell or Lenovo, but it will change with the update of the new version of windows 10. By default, group policy, settings and other options will be provided for users to use.
Microsoft is making three new settings for windows 10: forced immediate lock, forced immediate wake-up, and automatic lock after timeout.
It is reported that when the first option is enabled, windows will automatically lock the computer when the user leaves the screen.
If there is a supported camera, windows 10 can sense whether you are sitting or standing in front of the computer, and can also detect when you leave the computer. When you leave for a period of time (for example, 2 minutes, 30 seconds, 10 seconds), the automatic lock screen will be triggered. In addition, it can detect distances of 1.2m, 2.5m, 0.6m or 1m without logging in.
The second function is instant wake-up. When you sit in front of your laptop, you can enter the desktop automatically without unlocking it.
The biggest change of the new version of win10 is the change of user interface. We expect to see an updated look of Sun Valley in June / July.
